Who is Jaelynn?

Hello! I’m Jaelynn Douglas, a versatile, multi-faceted creative originally from Virginia and now based in San Diego for the past six years. Most recently, I served as the Publications and Production Specialist at the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy, where I led the creation of visual design content for research reports, policy briefs, event collateral, and advertising campaigns. Using Adobe Creative Suite, I designed and produced high-impact materials such as stage backdrops, welcome signage, and branded visuals for forums and major events. I also managed content and UI updates across nine academic websites, coordinated web-archive projects for five others, and ensured each platform met accessibility, branding, and user experience standards.

My path toward this career has always been deeply rooted in creative expression and intentional storytelling. From a young age, I was drawn to the arts—painting, drawing, and building worlds through imagination. This creativity then transformed into an interest for developing product pitches and immersive marketing proposals through my marketing classes and clubs. Little did I know, that these experiences were building blocks for my career.

At UC San Diego, I embraced a multidisciplinary academic journey that reflects my dual passions for Business Psychology and Political Science – Public Law, along with a minor in Korean Studies. Through Business Psychology, I built a strong foundation in consumer behavior, ethics, and marketing strategy, while Political Science deepened my understanding of equity, justice, and policy systems.

These intersecting areas fueled my belief in the power of communications as a tool for social change. I brought this perspective into practice through hands-on work—co-founding Black Voices of UC San Diego, interning at California Environmental Voters and the Environmental Defense Fund, and managing strategic communications for the UC San Diego Library. Each of these roles reinforced my commitment to inclusive, authentic, and values-driven storytelling.

Today, I’m a multidisciplinary creative and strategist with experience across higher education, environmental advocacy, and DEI-focused initiatives. My expertise spans content strategy, digital marketing, and creative design, where I’ve led rebranding campaigns, created cross-platform content, and multi-managed projects. I’m passionate about building intentional, equity-centered brand experiences that blend storytelling, inclusive design, and strategy.

When you work with me, you get more than a marketer or designer—you get a thought partner who listens deeply, adapts quickly, and creates with purpose. Whether you’re reimagining your brand, amplifying a mission, or building from the ground up, I work to give you solutions rooted in clarity, collaboration, and impact. I bring structure to your ideas and momentum to your message—so you can move forward with intention and confidence.
